Qatar's first Radisson Blu opened for business with the debut of the 583-room Radisson Blu Hotel, Doha.

The hotel includes 19 restaurants and bars as well as a spa and more than 21,000 square feet of meetings space. The property is about two miles from Doha International Airport.

Hoteliers are stepping up their development efforts in Doha in advance of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which will take place in various locations around Qatar. The country has 7,000 hotel rooms in its development pipeline, Smith Travel Research reported last month.
