Red Carnation Hotel Collection has acquired Ashford Castle in Mayo, Ireland.
The property, which dates to 1228 and was converted to a hotel in 1939 after serving as the Guinness Family home for more than 80 years, is a member of Leading Hotels of the World.
The hotel has 83 rooms as well as a nine-hole golf course.
Red Carnation's 15 properties include London’s Milestone Hotel and The Chesterfield in Palm Beach, Fla.
