Ritz-Carlton plans Kazakhstan debut by end of 2013

By Danny King
The first Ritz-Carlton in Kazakhstan will open by the end of next year, said the hotel company at the International Luxury Travel Market in Cannes on Tuesday.

The 145-room Ritz-Carlton Almaty is part of Ritz-Carlton’s effort to boost its portfolio from 80 to about 100 hotels in the next few years, said Chris Gabaldon, sales and marketing officer.

The hotel in Almaty, Kazakhstan's largest city, “should quickly develop as one of the local community’s social and business centers,” Gabaldon said.
