Ritz-Carlton resorts are under development in Kyoto, Japan, and Marrakech, Morocco.
The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto will have 136 guestrooms and views of the Higashiyama Mountains when it opens on the Kamogawa River in February 2014. The hotel rooms’ standard size will be about 550 square feet.
Ritz-Carlton plans to open a resort with 60 suites and 20 villas in Marrakech by September 2016. The property is about 12 miles from the city center and about seven miles from the Lalla Takerkoust lake.
Earlier this week, Marriott said construction started on a Ritz-Carlton in Rabat, the capital of Morocco. The 120-room hotel, which will be about a 10-minute drive from the city center, is slated to open in December 2014.
