Corrected: Ritz-Carlton to no longer run Rose Hall resort in Jamaica

By Gay Nagle Myers

Ritz-Carlton will no longer operate the Rose Hall resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica, effective May 20.

Playa Hotels and Resorts is in negotiations to acquire the resort.

Playa is a Spanish hotel investment company based in the U.S. that owns 17 all-inclusive properties in the Dominican Republic and Mexico. Its properties operate under the Secrets and Dreams brands (managed by AMResorts) and the Barcelo and Barcelo Premium brands (managed by Barcelo Hotels & Resorts).

Ritz-Carlton has managed the 427-room resort for the 13 years it has been in operation.

Facilities include a golf course, a spa, five restaurants, water sports and more than 25,000 square feet of meeting space.

This report was corrected to change the effective date of Ritz-Carlton's exit from the resort. It was also corrected to inform that Playa hasn't acquired the resort but is in negotiations to buy it.
