Tunisia's first hotel under Marriott International's Ritz-Carlton badge will open in late 2014 after the luxury hotel brand reached an agreement with developer Driss-Jenayah Group.
Ritz-Carlton Tunis, Carthage, will include 129 rooms as well as seven restaurants and bars. The hotel will be built on beachfront property next to the Presidential Palace in Tunis's Carthage-Sidi Bou Said district.
Ritz-Carlton has about 85 hotels worldwide, including eight in the Middle East-Africa region.
Driss-Jenayah Group owns hotels totaling more than 6,000 rooms.
