Sheraton takes over former Breezes resort in Panama

By Gay Nagle Myers

SheratonBijaoBeachResort-poolThe Sheraton Bijao Beach Resort opened in Panama this week as the brand’s first all-inclusive resort.

The 294-room property overlooks the Pacific in the Santa Clara region of Panama, 62 miles northwest of Panama City.

The property, formerly a Breezes resort, underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation prior to opening.

“Strategic conversions like this one continue to play an instrumental role in our portfolio growth across Latin America,” said Hoyt Harper, Sheraton's global brand leader.

Facilities at the resort include meeting space, several restaurants, three pools, kids’ pools, tennis courts, a spa area and an adjacent nine-hole golf course that offers preferential access to Sheraton guests.
