By Danny King
Sri Lanka’s first Hyatt hotel will open in 2014, as Hyatt reached an agreement with Sinolanka Hotels and Spa for the development of a 475-room Hyatt Regency.

The Hyatt Regency Colombo will occupy a 42-story building and will also include 84 serviced apartments. The hotel will have seven bars and restaurants as well as more than 17,000 square feet of meeting space.

Colombo, which is located on Sri Lanka’s west coast, is Sri Lanka’s largest city, with about 750,000 people.
