Le Meridien Mexico City City opened Wednesday, marking Starwood Hotels & Resorts' 71st hotel in the region and its seventh in Mexico City.
"The opening of Le Meridien is part of Starwood's aggressive expansion strategy in Latin America," sid Osvaldo Librizzi, co-president of the Americas, Starwood Hotels & Resorts.
Le Meridien was acquired by Starwood more than six years ago and underwent a comprehensive brand relaunch, according to Brian Povinelli, global brand leader, Le Meridien & Westin.
The 160-suite Mexico City hotel in the city's financial and cultural district offers a fitness center, pool, a full-service restaurant and Le Meridien Hub, which replaces the traditional hotel lobby with a social gathering place with conversation areas and artwork.
