Hyatt Hotels reached agreements with developer Piccadily Hotels Private Ltd. for two Hyatt Regency hotels to open in northern India by the end of the year.
The Hyatt Regency Gurgaon will have 452 rooms as well as almost 43,000 square feet of meetings space. Gurgaon is about 20 miles southwest of New Delhi.
Meanwhile, the Hyatt Regency Ludhiana will be the second under the brand in the Indian state of Punjab, following Hyatt Regency Chandigarh. The 167-room hotel will have about 7,500 square feet of meetings space. Ludhiana is about 200 miles northwest of New Delhi.
Hyatt is looking to benefit from a rapidly growing India travel market by expanding its Hyatt Regency brand there. Hyatt currently has five Hyatt Regency hotels open in India, with another 19 under development.
