Viceroy assumes management of New York hotel

Viceroy Hotels Group has entered the New York market by taking over management of the Cassa Hotel in midtown Manhattan.

The 165-room hotel is on 45th Street between 5th and 6th avenues. A restaurant by chef Laurent Tourondel of BLT fame in in development.

The hotel is part of the Cassa Hotel and Residences project, which opened in August 2010. There are 57 luxury residences on the property’s top floors.

Last month, Viceroy rebranded the 10-year-old Tides Riviera Maya on Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula as Viceroy Riviera Maya. Viceroy’s other 14 properties under management include the Viceroy Miami and Viceroy Santa Monica.
