Starwood Hotels & Resorts’ luxury-lifestyle W brand has made its mainland China debut with the opening of a hotel in Guangzhou.

The 317-room hotel features a 60-foot waterfall at its entry and includes more than 20,000 square feet of meeting space. The property, located on the Pearl River, has five restaurants and bars as well as a spa.

Starwood, which opened the 393-room W Hong Kong in 2008, plans to open W hotels in Beijing, Shanghai and Changsha next year.
