Europe’s fifth Waldorf Astoria hotel has opened in Berlin.
The 232-room Waldorf Astoria Berlin is located in a 32-story stone-and-glass building near the city’s Kurfurstendamm’s shopping district.
The hotel includes a restaurant helmed by French chef Pierre Gagnaire as well as an 11,000-square-foot spa and a 3,550-square-foot ballroom.
Last month, Scotland’s first Waldorf Astoria opened in Edinburgh in what was previously the Caledonian Hilton. The 241-room hotelreceived $38 million in upgrades.
Also, there are Waldorf Astoria hotels in London, Rome and Versailles, France. The Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam is slated to open in early 2014.
