Waldorf Astoria hotel planned for Bangkok

By Danny King
Southeast Asia’s first Waldorf Astoria hotel will open in Bangkok in 2015.

The 170-room Waldorf Astoria Bangkok will be about a mile south of the city’s central business district. The hotel will have five restaurants and bars as well as two ballrooms and a spa.

Hilton Worldwide is broadening its luxury hotel portfolio worldwide by reaching agreements to expand both its Waldorf Astoria and Conrad brands.

Hilton said late last year that it looked to increase the number of Waldorf Astoria hotels this year to 30 from 22 while increasing its Conrad portfolio to 31 from 17 by mid-2013.
