Westin revamping business centers

By Danny King
Westin hotels will revamp their on-site business centers to better cater to corporate travelers who are reliant on their mobile devices.

Westin’s new business space, dubbed Project Hive, has already been added to the chain’s Westin Arlington Gateway near Washington, D.C., and Westin Boston Waterfront. The concept will be rolled out to the chain’s 190 hotels through 2013.

The spaces, which will replace what Starwood termed “the antiquated business center model,” will be no more than 260 square feet and will include free WiFi, videoconferencing capabilities, whiteboards that can be used for group meetings and office supplies.

Hotel guests will be able to book the space by the hour.
