Turkey's first Wyndham-branded hotel opened last week with the debut of the 210-room Wyndham Istanbul Kalamis Marina.

The hotel, which is owned by Reisler Deri Sanayi Ve Ticaret Ltd. Sirketi, has a ballroom that can accommodate as many as 750 people, as well as five restaurants and cafes. The hotel rooms have views of the Kalamis Marina and Marmara Sea.

Wyndham, like other global hoteliers, is looking to gain from rising tourism numbers in Turkey. Specifically, companies such as Jumeirah Group, Morgans Hotel Group and Viceroy Hotels & Resorts have either entered the Istanbul market or have announced plans to do so within the next two years. And last month, Hyatt said Istanbul's first Hyatt Regency would open in early 2014.

Turkey's second Wyndham-branded hotel, the 306-room Wyndham Istanbul Petek, will open next summer. Parent company Wyndham Worldwide also has a dozen Ramada-branded hotels in the country.
