Expedia executive resigns

By Johanna Jainchill
Expedia Worldwide's president, Scott Durchslag, has resigned from the company after one year on the job.

Expedia CEO Dara Khosrowshahi has stepped in as president of Expedia Worldwide, in addition to his role as CEO of Expedia Inc.

The online travel company did not reveal the reasons for Durchslag’s departure. An Expedia spokesperson said that Khosrowshahi's appointment "is not considered a short term assignment."

Durchslag joined Expedia in early 2011, coming over from Skype Technologies, where he was COO.

According to Expedia’s website, he was responsible for managing the strategy and operations of the business with a focus on increasing worldwide share, driving innovation, expanding into new channels and positioning the Expedia brand for further international growth.
