Austin-Lehman bringing guests to Nicaragua in 2013

By Jerry Limone

Nicaragua-LeonViewAustin-Lehman Adventures will make its foray into Nicaragua with nine departures in 2013.

The eight-day itinerary “offers a broad, behind-the-scenes look at Nicaragua’s extraordinary natural and cultural treasures,” said Dan Austin, the tour operator’s founding director.

Guests will climb to the rim of Cerro Negro crater before surfing on an ash board down its black volcanic sands; tour the cathedral, galleries and museums of Leon; hike Masaya Volcano National Park; kayak on the Asese Peninsula among the Mombacho islets of Lake Nicaragua; take a zipline tour of Mombacho Nature Reserve; and relax on the beaches of San Juan del Sur.

Accommodations are at Hotel El Convento in Leon, Hotel Granada in Granada and Morgan’s Rock Hacienda & Ecolodge near San Juan del Sur.

The trip begins and ends in Managua.
