G Adventures pursues older travelers

By Michelle Baran

Canadian tour operator G Adventures (formerly Gap Adventures), known as an active-travel brand for young adventurers, is pushing harder into the 50-plus market.

G Adventures has forged a partnership with AARP and has launched G-Plus, a soft-adventure product with more comforts than other tours.

As part of its new relationship with AARP, effective mid-January, AARP members will receive discounts on some G Adventures tours.

G-Plus combines adventure and exploration with increased comforts such as more included meals, included transfers and higher-end hotels.

G Adventures has always offered trips with more comfort, but now it has an entire brochure of these soft-adventure trips. The company said the G-Plus program has 150 tours.
