Tour Operators Reebok gets into the adventure tour business By Michelle Baran / April 24, 2014 Share 1 -- Adventure tour operator Austin Adventures and Reebok have partnered to create a series of fitness-oriented vacations.The new product, Reebok Fitness Vacations by Austin Adventures, will launch this summer with a pilot trip to Montana. It is commissionable.The partnership is Reebok’s foray into packaged travel. “We are always looking for new ways to engage fitness enthusiasts and to create opportunities to make fitness an integral part of their lifestyle,” Linne Kimball, head of licensing at Reebok, said in a statement. Three Reebok Fitness Vacations itineraries are scheduled for 2014 (Montana, Utah and Costa Rica), and a full launch is slated for 2015.The trips will integrate activities such as climbing steep peaks, stopping to do pushups while hiking trails, stair climbing to and from waterfall overlooks, forest trail running, whitewater paddling, outdoor fitness classes and yoga. On some itineraries, there might be a masseuse, yoga instructor or other fitness expert traveling with the group. Menus will be hearty and nutrition-oriented.Bookings will be handled by Austin Adventures out of the company’s headquarters in Billings, Mont. The company was acquired by Xanterra Parks & Resorts in September 2013.
