Remote Lands hires Virtuoso alum

Remote Lands, a tour operator specializing in Asia, has hired Wendy Clayton to the newly created position of vice president of sales.

Clayton is a former director of member sales and services at Virtuoso.

Clayton will head Remote Lands’ sales efforts, working directly with travel partners throughout the U.S., Canada, Latin America, Australia and New Zealand.

Remote Lands is based in New York and Bangkok and specializes in luxury, custom tours to Asia. Clayton will work from the New York office.

Prior to Virtuoso, Clayton served as director of sales development for North America for Discovery World Cruises. She has also worked for Silversea Cruises and Orient Lines.

Clayton has been in the industry for more than 20 years, including having worked in sales for Air New Zealand and Brendan Tours.
