Tour Operators Vacations by Rail debuts Cuba rail-cruise By Michelle Baran / October 22, 2015 Share 1 The Havana skyline. -- North American rail packager Vacations by Rail has introduced its first rail-cruise cultural exchange tour to Cuba with departures starting Feb. 9.The 12-day Cuba by Rail & Cruise itinerary begins with overnight rail travel aboard Amtrak's Silver Meteor from New York to Miami. In Miami, guests will then board Haimark's 200-passenger St. Laurent for a 10-day cruise to and around Cuba.Ports of call include Havana, Maria La Gorda, Cienfuegos, Trinidad, Santiago de Cuba, Baracoa, Alejandro de Humboldt National Park and Holguin."As travel regulations to Cuba continue to relax, we are seeing a huge pent-up demand by our customers for the Cuban experience, and we're pleased we can now offer them the opportunity to visit through our newest rail-cruise product," said Todd Powell, CEO and co-founder of Vacations By Rail.
