ASTA will launch a new social media strategy this month, in which the organization promotes the value of using a travel agent, according to an email sent from ASTA CEO Zane Kerby to members.
Kerby said ASTA will have a presence on Facebook, LinkedIn and other social media outlets.
“When you ‘like’ what you see, share it, and help get the word out about the great work travel professionals do,” Kerby said.
ASTA’s new tagline is “The global advocates for travel. Go with the pros.”
Also, Kerby touched on ASTA’s new approach to its annual convention, to be held this year in Miami from Sept. 16 to 19.
As previously reported, ASTA is making the event a high-profile one, with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton giving the keynote speech.
Royal Caribbean Chairman Richard Fain and Norwegian Cruise Line CEO Kevin Sheehan are confirmed to participate in a CEO panel at the conference.
And airlines will have a presence at interactive sessions, discussing “new ways to better re-engage with agents,” said Kerby, who took the reins as ASTA's new CEO in February.
