ASTA announced the election or reelection of five directors-at-large who will serve two-year terms.
They are Lila Ford, president and owner of Gallery of Travel, Rochester, N.Y.; Mike McCulloh, president of McCulloh Travel Service, Ardmore, Okla.; Chris Russo, owner of Travel Partners, Bloomfield, Colo.; Kari Thomas, president of Will Travel, Langhorne, Pa.; and Carol Wagner, president and owner of CWT/Travel Plus, Commerce Township, Mich.
There were nine candidates for the five seats, including frequent and vocal ASTA critic Alan Fiermonte, president and chief adventure officer of Down2earth Adventures, Conshohocken, Pa.
Four additional directors will serve a second year of their two-year terms: George Delanoy, Lynda Maxwell, Irene Ross and Hope Wallace.
Cheryl Hudak, ASTA's president, and Mary Peters, vice president and secretary, were not eligible for reelection. Delanoy, the current treasurer, is eligible for reelection to that post.
When the board convenes in September, it will elect from the nine directors a new president; vice president and secretary; and treasurer, each for a one-year term.
In addition to the nine directors-at-large, the ASTA board includes three chapter presidents, the chair of the International Chapter Presidents' Council and two Corporate Advisory Council members.
At its recent meeting, the Chapter Presidents Council elected the following chapter presidents to sit on the board: Pat Byrne (Upstate New York), John Lovell (Michigan) and Scott Pinheiro (Northern California).
