Travel agents who are looking to boost their sales of Canadian rail packages now have the opportunity to promote themselves as specialists through a new training program produced by Rocky Mountaineer.
For the first time, the Canadian company is offering agents an online training course called Tracks to learn about its 45 packages, including two new rail products for 2013: expanded Silver Leaf luxury rail service and the Coastal Passage, a train route from Seattle to Vancouver and Calgary.
“With all these new products and vacations packages, it's the time to broaden our online resources for agents,” said a Rocky Mountaineer spokesman. “We really depend on travel agents in the U.S. to sell our product, because the knowledge of the Canadian rail system is not great there, and consumers need help in learning about the packages and all the options available.”
As an incentive, the first 100 participants who successfully complete modules one and two by March 15 will be entered into a drawing to win one of three iPad Minis.
The first two modules cover Rocky Mountaineer’s basic products with company history, route descriptions and different levels of service. Training sessions feature detailed information, and a short online quiz tests participants’ knowledge.
Over the next four months, Tracks will roll out additional modules to cover other topics and product offerings.
