International air fuels April growth in ARC transactions

U.S. travel agencies in April processed 3.1% more total air transactions than they did a year earlier, according to ARC, with growth in domestic transactions (1.7%) lagging international (6.4%).

Total April sales excluding refunds and exchanges rose 1.4%, as a 12.8% jump in airline fees helped to offset a 0.2% drop in fare sales.

That drop in total fare sales resulted from a 3.2% decline in domestic airfare sales canceling out a 3.2% increase in international fare sales.
