Montrose broadens its 'romance travel' niche

By Donna Tunney

Montrose Travel, which operates a host and retail agency, expanded its honeymoon division into a broader romance travel division, specializing in honeymoons, destination weddings, anniversaries and romantic getaways.

The agency's honeymoon division was launched in 1998 but has been broadened by romance division supervisor Josette Basso.

"It is with much excitement that I have stepped into the leadership role of our new romance division," said Basso. "Romance travel is the most rewarding style of travel to sell. We work hard to make every vacation we plan the most memorable and romantic, and in the process, we create lifetime relationships with our clients."

Since the start of the rebranding from honeymoon division to romance division last April, the agency said it has doubled its destination weddings for 2010.

The agency is based in Montrose, Calif. Agents can learn more about its host agency unit online at www.mtravel.com.
