LONDON -- World Travel Market 1999, scheduled for Nov. 15 to 18 at
Earls Court here, will showcase several new exhibitors to the
market's floors.
Set to debut destination stands are the Sharjah (United Arab
Emirates) Commerce & Tourism Development Authority; the Mundo
Maya Organization, made up of representatives of Mexico, Belize, El
Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras, and Turkmenistan, each focusing
on the cultural heritage and history of their regions.
Also, for the first time, four Florida counties -- Orange,
Osceola, Brevard and Seminole -- will unite to form a Central
Florida regional presence as part of the Visit Florida section, and
will feature 16 partners from within the four counties.
To promote the line on transatlantic routes, British Midland
Airlines also will occupy a stand at World Travel Market for the
first time this year. Already known for its routes in the U.K. and
throughout Europe, British Midland hopes to forge a presence on the
international market as well.
On the hotel front, new exhibitors include Three Cities Hotels,
with properties in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Mozambique;
Grand Heritage Hotels, which is launching a conference and
incentives division and U.K.-based division, and the Virgin Group,
which is launching its new company, the Private Collection by
Virgin. Also promoting new properties are Pan Pacific Hotels &
Resorts and Hyatt Hotels & Resorts.
