Vermont agency to test Travelport's new desktop

Child Albany Travel will become "one of the first" U.S. travel agencies to test Travelport's Universal Desktop.

Based in Colchester, Vt., Child Albany Travel signed a "long-term renewal" to use Travelport's technology and access content via Travelport's Apollo system.

Universal Desktop is a new agent platform that, according to Travelport, can "seamlessly combine all components of the travel itinerary and centrally manage profile and policy information, all within the highly configurable desktop" that includes multi-source content and pricing.

Australia's Flight Centre Limited was the first to test the platform ahead of launching it last year.

Travelport subsequently announced plans for additional agency testing at Global Travel Management in the United Kingdom, Cain Travel in the U.S. and six additional Asia-Pacific customers.
