EzRez Software has acquired Topguest, a startup company providing loyalty and social network-engagement products to travel companies.
Topguest enables members of travel loyalty programs to earn reward points for geo-located check-ins via their mobile devices by powering direct links to Facebook, Foursquare, Instagram and Twitter.
For example, EzRez said, a Virgin America Elevate member waiting to board a flight can take a couple of minutes to check-in on Foursquare and earn bonus points.
“Topguest has tapped into an exciting niche in the loyalty space, enabling members to generate tangible value from their daily interaction with Facebook, Twitter and other social networks,” Daniel Farrar, CEO of EzRez, said in a statement. “Loyalty programs, in turn, can leverage this increased engagement to help build stronger brand loyalty and enhance their direct marketing efforts.”
EzRez provides booking and loyalty-redemption solutions for travel suppliers and travel agencies.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. All Topguest employees will join the EzRez team and will continue to operate Topguest.com.
Both companies are based in San Francisco.
