What Travel Agents Say About the Show

dtoursNo matter how many conferences I attend and how often I think I’ve heard “it” all before, I always find inspiration at industry events.  If you want to be at the top of your game, it’s foolish to ignore the experience and advice of your fellow agents. There’s always a new great idea to adopt and Travel Weekly is providing excellent access to it

Virginia BarthelThe Travel Weekly Show in Atlantic City had the one thing all agents talk about being the most beneficial, but no other conference has had, and that was the networking between agents at the Travel Agent Think Tank. It was an opportunity to have an organized exchange of ideas and best practices with attending travel agents, from successful seasoned veterans to brand new to the industry agents. No suppliers, no sales pitches, just an honest conversation between agents with Travel Weekly’s brand of fun thrown in….MP & Joanie!

Jennifer DonczeczI found that Dr Mancini's seminar on selling to the mindset of the age group you are working with, an eye opening experience.  I think any salesperson in any industry could benefit from learning about the consumers they are selling to.
I have already changed my approach when I sell to the "me generation" vs. the "gen x" clients.  Imagine using psychology to gain an advantage in selling?   I think this is just one more tool that really helps turning a quote into a sale!
Learning about a product/resort is wonderful but having an extra "inside" advantage to the way consumers think, is something I had never learned about at any other travel convention.

Geoff MillarThe thing I like the most about the Travel Weekly travel Shows is that every session is truly an educational session not just a platform for someone to sell something.

I feel the attendees that attend the Travel Weekly Travel Shows tend to be more serious about the travel business than some shows I have attended.

The opportunities to network with your piers at the Travel Weekly Travel Shows are fantastic.  An example is the brainstorm session held at the Travel Weekly Travel Show in Atlantic City where over 25? travel agents got together to brainstorm on any and all travel agent issues for almost 3 hours.

Jennifer KruseWhile the educational opportunities and session content unparallelled, I felt where Travel Weekly shined at LeisureWorld 2010 was the focus given on the PEOPLE.   Travel Professionals were given the opportunity to connect, and network with each other in a way I have not seen at an industry conference before.  The best of the best, both agents and suppliers,  were brought together to learn from one another in an amazing and interactive forum.

Thank you to Travel Weekly and everyone that helped to make the October 2010 Atlantic City Event so successful.  It was not only informative but also fun.  I was thrilled to be one of the many prize winners this year.  I look forward to more travel shows and conventions; which prove to be an important way for travel agents to interact face-to-face with tour operators and travel suppliers, as well as with each other.

I found the Travel Weekly conference in Atlantic City to be one of the best ever training events for Travel Agents! The sessions were awesome! The speakers were so knowledgeable about their respective areas. It's really beneficial to not only get educational information in a particular area but also the hands-on "how I built my business". I LOVED it! You've really set the bar high!

kathyeovinoThe break-out sessions were very informative. I learned a lot about air consolidators at the USACA class and how to make more money using them. The class - "The Money is in All-Inclusives" was inspiring. Getting information from another agent like Geoff Millar was very helpful. We will definitely be attending future Travel Weekly conferences.

Thank you for all your help in accommodating me. I had a great time, and, most important, made wonderful connections. You did a FIRST CLASS job!

This was one of the best shows I have attended in a long time. Kudos to Travel Weekly and the entire staff. I particularly liked the variety of speakers/content and also found the presentations interesting and informative without feeling like they were just trying to sell me something. In fact, there were so many interesting topics and presenters that I found myself having difficulty making a decision as to which session I would attend.

The show was great. I have to agree that it was one of the best that I’ve attended. The content was varied and some down right inspirational. I especially enjoyed the panel with the cruise line sales and marketing people (great points brought to the forefront). My greatest issue was that I wasn’t able to clone myself so I could attend more sessions. Well done!

- Marlene DePalma, Dynamic Getaways

It was a great show. The workshops and ship tours were excellent. I am relatively new to the business and learned a lot. I would highly recommend if you did not go to this show take a look at the one coming up in Atlantic City!

I want to commend Travel Weekly on providing relevant and interesting discussions and topics – thank you for the inspiration!

I thought the show was fantastic, it really takes the bar much higher. The sessions and classes were so enriching and helpful! I truly hope I can get to Las Vegas!

As a new agent on the scene, I thought LeisureWorld was great! The panelists were very knowledgeable in their space. I can't wait until the next one!

I really enjoyed networking with other agents on many levels; learning from some, sharing with others. Thank you, Travel Weekly, for holding a show that invited professional agents of every level to attend, learn and network.

...but the big question is: What will YOU say?
