Flight 001 4-in-1 Adapter: This clever product, which enables you to connect an electrical device in more than 150 countries, comprises four color-coded plugs that nestle together in a cube small enough to fit in one hand. Each plastic piece -- in bright yellow, red, blue and green -- corresponds to an abbreviated list of 48 color-coded countries listed on the adapter's sturdy interior container. For example, the red plug fits outlets in the U.K., Kenya and the United Arab Emirates, among other nations, while the yellow plug works in countries such as Australia, China and Samoa. One caveat: the 4-in-1 Adapter will not alter the voltage to an appliance. $25; www.flight001.com.

Flight 001 4-in-1 AdapterTravel Lite Carry On Friendlies: These handy kits, one for women and one for men, contain La Fresh wipes appropriate for minor travel emergencies and inconveniences. The women's Friendlies consist of a pouch of facial wipes, nail polish remover pads, lens-/screen-cleaning wipes, makeup remover wipes, hygiene wipes and antiperspirant wipes. The men's collection has antiperspirant wipes, mosquito-repellant wipes, lens-/screen-cleaning wipes, hygiene wipes, antibacterial wipes and shoe-shine wipes. Both sets of wipes come in a portable travel bag. $19.99; www.lafreshgroup.com.

Gate8 Tri-Fold Wheeled Garment Bag: Designed with the business professional in mind, this lightweight (6.8 pounds) carry-on not only has room enough to neatly handle a wardrobe suitable for a three-day trip but also features a zip-away computer bag that can protect a 17-inch laptop as well as a tablet. Unzip the bag when you are ready to work in the cabin of the plane and once again when you need your laptop after you arrive at your destination. The Tri-Fold, which also features a shoe pocket, carries a lifetime warranty. $149; www.gate8-luggage.com.

Lumina 28-Inch Spinner: The largest piece in the new Lumina Collection from Atlantic Luggage (it is joined by a carry-on and a 24-incher), the "great 28" is lightweight (14 pounds), attractive, durable and, unusual for a hard-shell, expandable (by 2 inches, no less). Easily maneuvered on four-corner, dual-wheel spinners, the bag is made from 100% ABS material coated with a rippled polyurethane satin finish (in black or blue). An aluminum extension handle is adjustable to two stops. TSA-accepted locks, adjustable hold-down straps and an interior zippered divider panel for laundry complete the picture. The specs: 28 by 19 by 12 inches. $115; www.atlanticluggage.com.

The Plaza Hotel Robe: The next best thing to actually overnighting at the fabled Plaza Hotel could be wearing this lavish terry robe in your own home. The robe, which sports gold trim and the gold embroidered crest of the hotel, comes in sizes ranging from small to XXL. It is available from the Plaza Boutique, which specializes in accessories and apparel made exclusively for The Plaza Hotel. $135; www.theplazany.com/shops/plaza-boutique.

  • Consumer media discover that travel agents do exist

"Contrary to some thoughts, travel agents do exist ... We are usually able to get clients better prices, and we know we can see that clients have better experiences. And as our personal motto is: Our Service Travels With You."
