JetBlue receives first plane with redesigned cabin

JetBlue has taken delivery of its first A320 aircraft with a redesigned cabin that the airline said offers customers improved seat comfort and more personal space.

JetBlue said the redesigned interior has all-leather Recaro seats with more comfortable cushions and increased personal space created by thinner seat profiles, sculptured sidewall paneling, 10% more overhead bin space and LED cabin lighting.

All of JetBlue’s scheduled A320 deliveries, a total of 88 aircraft, will feature these new cabin enhancements.

JetBlue called the redesign a lightweight solution, as it trims 1,050 pounds per aircraft and thus consumes less fuel than previous JetBlue A320s. The airline estimates an annual savings of $52,000 per new delivery.
