Eos not clear about its domestic plans

Eos offered tidbits about plans to add domestic service, but the all-premium-class airline will have to provide more detail to receive Transportation Department approval.

The DOT had asked Eos to provide more information to supplement the application Eos filed in December. The airline had requested certificate authority to offer interstate scheduled service in the U.S. Eos currently is certificated only for international service, and operates flights from New York Kennedy to London Stansted. It plans to add service from Newark to London on May 5 and from London to Dubai on July 6.

On the domestic front, Eos told the DOT on Feb. 12 that it plans to offer some seasonal flights to destinations in the Western U.S. But it somewhat contradicted itself in the next sentence when it added, “Some flights would be for year-round service and other flights would be for seasonal service.”

That’s all Eos told the DOT, which responded on Feb. 20 by requesting “a breakdown of the carrier’s proposed markets, including block hours and the number of flights per aircraft (seasonal/year-round).”

The DOT also asked for Eos' most recent financial statements (the airline is a privately held company).
