CityCenter names resort Aria

May 19, 2008

CityCenter, MGM Mirage and Dubai World's $9 billion development on the Las Vegas Strip, has named its hotel casino Aria.

The property, located between the Bellagio and the Monte Carlo hotels, is scheduled to open in late 2009.

Aria will have 4,004 guest rooms, including 568 suites. All guest rooms will have floor-to-ceiling windows. MGM Mirage said Aria's tower is "uniquely designed to deliver corner-window views from every guest room."

The hotel will have 300,000 square feet of meetings and convention space. Four ballrooms will offer the flexibility to accommodate gatherings of up to 5,000 attendees. Three ballrooms will feature theatrical stages. Meetings space will encompass three levels and deliver a total of 38 meetings rooms ranging from 800 to 2,000 square feet.

CityCenter also will feature three non-gaming hotels: the Mandarin Oriental; the Harmon Hotel, Spa & Residences; and the Vdara Condo Hotel. Veer Towers will have strictly residential buildings, and the Crystals will be a 500,000-square-foot retail and entertainment district.
