Travel portal TripAtlas.com launched a lead-generation system called TripAtlas Pro. The service delivers buyers to retail agents.
Retailers from anywhere in the world can sign up and pay $395 a year as subscribers. It costs 99 cents for each prospective customer whom a participating retailer contacts. There are discounts for agents buying leads in bulk.
The company said that participating agents will receive daily emails with leads available to them. The recipients then access an agent-only section of TripAtlas.com to determine which prospects to pursue.
The 99-cent charge kicks in when an agent responds with a bid on the customer’s proposed trip. Once the customer accepts an agent’s bid, the customer receives no more bids, TripAtlas said.
When joining TripAtlas Pro, agents start with 30 free credits in their bank account to pursue 30 leads.
TripAtlas said it does not assess commissions on booked business.
TripAltas already has a directory of more than 104,000 travel professionals worldwide. Since about a year ago, it has offered them the option of creating a company profile. Agents with a company profile will be upgraded to the lead-generation program without an initial charge.
Agent-specific leads could come to participating agents directly from the company profiles, TripAtlas said.
In addition, TripAtlas Pro users have access to the exclusive Pro Forum to trade information and services with other agents.
