St. Thomas hotel no longer a Holiday Inn

June 24, 2009

The 150-room Windward Passage, formerly the Holiday Inn St. Thomas, is no longer is affiliated with Holiday Inn.

The hotel's 10-year franchise contract expired earlier this year, and management chose not to renew the contract, according to a hotel spokesperson.

Windward Passage, located in downtown Charlotte Amalie, is the original name of the property built in 1968.

To accommodate the hotel's repeat guests, many of whom were members of Holiday Inn's Priority Club Awards program, Windward Passage launched its own rewards program. Features include one free night for every 10 booked and complementary continental breakfast.
