Shopping at OTAs grows 10% from last year

The number of U.S. consumers shopping at online travel agencies fell 10% in September compared to the prior month but grew 10% from last year, based on an analysis conducted by digital intelligence firm Compete

Among the competitive set, only Cheaptickets, Orbitz & Travelocity experienced traffic losses from last September. Priceline had the best year over year traffic growth performance (+50%) while Cheaptickets experienced the worst decline (-40%).

This data woud be far more meanigful if it showed online booking by travel type, specifically splitting out air, car, hotel, tour and cruise. I think the resulting data would be "interesting".

I think it's interesting that Cheaptickets is lower year over year while everyone else has increased. What about YTB? YTB says their competitors are Expedia (from whom they actually "buy" their booking engine) and Orbitz.
