The Star Alliance said Thursday that Shanghai Airlines will terminate its membership at the end of October.

China Eastern Airlines, which merged with Shanghai last year, agreed to join the SkyTeam alliance in April.

Air China will remain as the Star Alliance’s only Chinese carrier.
