What’s next, a “Golden Slumbers” mortuary?
That’s what Beatles enthusiasts may be asking after the recent opening of the Yellow Submarine floating hotel in the band’s hometown of Liverpool, England, according to the U.K.’s Daily Mail.
The three-room hotel opened at Albert Dock on the Mersey River and includes touches such as 3D televisions and a scooter that was in the film version of the Who’s “Quadrophenia.” (We won’t quibble with the band mash-up.)
The sub was acquired by local businessman Alfie Bubbles (yes, that’s his name) from Paramount Pictures. The sub was used in the 1990 Sean Connery film “The Hunt for Red October,” so the hotel’s got no shortage of U.K. icons.
No word on whether guests will get refunded if they don’t experience skies of blue and seas of green.
