Honk if you love Curacao! The Dutch Caribbean island arrived in style on Manhattan's streets via 110 yellow cabs sporting double-sided, royal blue tops promoting United's nonstop service from JFK and Newark to Curacao.
The colorful signage, complete with Curacao's logo and the kaleidoscope of vividly painted buildings lining the waterfront in the capital of Willemstad, will roam the city streets atop the taxis until Aug. 1.
There wasn't room on the signs to display the current promotional offer for Curacao from United Vacations — $50 in savings per booking on an air-hotel reservation of $1,700 or more.
Maybe a United Vacations brochure touting the offer is handed out by the drivers once a customer hops in and slams the door. It would make more interesting reading than the annoying ads on the small screen facing the passenger.
