FORT LAUDERDALE -- The 220,000-ton Oasis of the Seas, the largest and most talked about cruise ship on the planet, was revealed to the public for the first time Friday morning during a special two-hour "Good Morning America" segment on ABC.

On Thursday night, select travel agents and contest winners were the first to sail on the Oasis while pop-star Rihanna became the first performer to take the stage on the ship.

And on Friday night, the ship’s first official preview sailing will take a group of travel agents, media and VIPs on a two-day "cruise to nowhere."

Oasis of the Seas in Fort LauderdaleWhile not drawing quite the crowds it did the day it arrived here last week, the Oasis is still a celebrity and the gawkers were out.

People lined walkways near the port. Guests on a Carnival ship moored across the channel crowded to one side of the deck to catch a glimpse.

And travel agents who have seen dozens if not hundreds of new ships whipped out their Blackberries and iPhones to get shots as soon as the Oasis as it came into view on the way from the airport.

During the sailing, I will be staying in a balcony cabin overlooking Central Park -- one of seven neighborhoods on the Oasis and one of two areas with balcony cabins overlooking it (the Boardwalk neighborhood is the other).

I’m hoping it will make for some good people-watching at night, when the park's central piazza (which Royal Caribbean says is the neighborhood’s "town square") opens for alfresco dining and when street performers and strolling musicians will come out.

I was on it. It was fantastic, not crowded at all, did not feel that large given the way the 7 neighborhoods are set up.

It may not be for you, but you're not selling from your taste or wallet. Your selling to fit your guests vacation desires. And believe me, there are people out there that will LOVE an opportunity to be on such a unique ship!
