    Plans for the Disney Magic renovation

    The Disney Magic is receiving a September refurbishment that will be the biggest in the ship's history and will give the Magic, as Disney Imagineering executive Joe Lanzisero put it, "something for everybody out there." One of the most dramatic changes will be the addition of the "AquaDunk" slide, where riders loop out over the ocean in an enclosed tube.

    The family-friendly Aqua Lab water playground, for kids age three and up, will feature pop jets, geysers and bubblers and the "Twist n' Spout" slide.

    The redesigned grand atrium lobby, with a coral, blue and aquamarine color palette and elements of the sea, takes its inspiration from the art deco era and early 20th century ocean liners and will feature a new chandelier and a grand staircase.

    The children's play areas will be redone, in part to accommodate Disney's acquisition of Marvel Entertainment, whose stable of superheroes, including the Avengers, will be represented for the first time at sea on the Disney Magic with the Avengers Academy in Disney's Oceaneer Club.

    Another change to the play areas is the addition of the "Toy Story"-inspired Andy's Room, a multi-level youth space in Disney's Oceaneer Club.

    The Topsider buffet restaurant will be converted into the Australian-themed Cabanas onboard the Disney Magic.

    The Parrot Cay restaurant will be replaced by the Rio de Janeiro-inspired Carioca's, featuring a festival theme during the day and a vibrant after-hours scene at night.
