The Caribbean Tourism Organization presented an award to Travel Weekly Caribbean Editor Gay Nagle Myers for the best feature in a trade publication in 2012 for her report on St. Kitts and Nevis; from left, Nevis Tourism Minister Mark Brantley, CTO Secretary General Hugh Riley, Myers and St. Kitts Tourism Minister Ricky Skerritt.

Dominic Laverty of Princess Cruises was crowned best bartender at the Diageo Americas Global Travel Team World Class final held in Miami. The final featured the best bartending talent from Princess Cruises and Norwegian Cruise Line. He will go on to compete against the world’s best bartenders from over 50 countries at the Global final on July 4 to 9, where the winner will be named Diageo Reserve World Class Bartender of the Year.

Vacation.com handed out its Power of the Partnership Awards at its annual conference in Orlando. The awards honor V-com’s top-producing member agencies and its highest rated preferred suppliers. The 2013 Chairman’s Award was presented to Sandra Cleary, center, the president of CruCon Cruise Outlet Plus, by V-com‘s Karin Viera, vice president of sales, and President John Lovell.

Also honored at the Vacation.com conference were Steve Muraca and Chad Burt of Cruise and Tours Unlimited, second and third from left, who received their 2013 President’s Award for U.S. Large Agency from Viera and Lovell.

Vacation.com’s Viera and Lovell also presented David Fishman of Cadillac Travel with the 2013 President’s Award for Top New Newcomer Member.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel cuts the ribbon to mark the completion of a $110 million expansion and renovation of the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place. The hotel is now Hyatt’s fourth-largest hotel in the world and is the fourth-largest hotel in Chicago. From left, Illinois State Rep. The award was presented to Fareportal/Travelong CEO Sam Jain, fifth from left, by Sabre Vice President Gerry More-Murray, fourth from left, and Account Director Bob Clark, fifth from right, at Fareportal’s corporate headquarters in New York.

LOT Polish Airlines inaugurated 787 Dreamliner daily, nonstop service from Chicago to Warsaw on June 5, the first international Dreamliner flight from O’Hare Airport.
