The Woodlands Resort to replace guestroom wing
By Danny King

The Woodlands Resort & Conference Center near Houston will be redeveloped by owner Howard Hughes Corp.
The 440-room resort, which was built in 1974 as part of The Woodlands master-planned community about 30 miles north of Houston, will have its 206-room wing replaced by a new, 184-room wing.
The rest of the resort’s rooms will be renovated, as will its 60,000 square feet of meeting space and 13,000 square-foot spa.
Howard Hughes Corp., which acquired the property in 2011, is taking out a $95 million loan in part to complete the redevelopment. It is scheduled to be completed by summer 2014.
