Carnival cancels more Triumph cruises
Carnival Cruise Lines said it has canceled 12 more sailings of the damaged Carnival Triumph, which is being towed to Mobile, Ala
., after an engine fire.
Carnival had already cancelled the Feb. 11 and 16 sailings of the ship, which regularly sails four- and five-day cruises from Galveston, Texas.
Carnival has now cancelled all cruises through April 13, putting the Triumph out of commission for at least two months.
Guests on the affected sailings will receive a full refund on the cruise as well as reimbursement of nonrefundable transportation costs, prepaid shore excursions, gratuities, and government fees and taxes.
Passengers will also get a 25% discount on a future three- to five-day Carnival cruise or a 15% discount on a six- or seven-day cruise.
Travel agent commissions will be protected, Carnival said. Follow Tom Stieghorst on Twitter @tstravelweekly.
