Austin-Lehman brings bike and hike programs to North America

November 12, 2009

Austin-Lehman Adventures is adding hiking and biking tours to its U.S. and Canada portfolio.

In 2008, Austin-Lehman acquired Euro-Bike and Walking Tours, marking the tour operator’s expansion into the European market. Now, the Billings, Mont.-based operator is bringing the concept to North America.

"Cycle-only trips are not new to Austin-Lehman. In fact, that is where we got our start. Just last year we returned to our roots when we launched a program of first-class European trips with our acquisition of Euro-Bike. What is new are the four tour itineraries we just added in North America," Dan Austin, Austin-Lehman's director of operations, said in a statement.

Of Austin-Lehman’s 17 bike vacations for 2010, four itineraries are in the U.S. and Canada — Grand Teton: Valley Floors to Jagged Peaks; Black Hills: The Great Plains of South Dakota; Utah: Canyonlands National Park; and Canadian Rockies: Rocky Mountain Treasures.

Austin-Lehman has added two hike-only trips for 2010 — Canadian Rockies: Ultimate Rocky Mountain; and France: La Provence Complète.

Austin-Lehman was founded in 1974 by Dan Austin and Paul Lehman. The company specializes in small-group active travel, limited to 12 guests (18 on family departures), in North, Central and South America, Europe and southern Africa.

Dear Product Tour Manager, I hope you will be in touch and consider adding hiking tours along the International Appalachain Trail from Mt Katahdin in Northern Maine, "THE DENALI OF THE EST", to the Gaspee Peninsula in Quebec CA. I hope you will consider hiking and biking tours in "BIG SKY COUNTRY" of the East, AROOSTOOK COUNTY, the CROWN of Maine. As a receptive tour operator f the ATLANTIC NORTHEAST BASIN and 20 year tour guide as well, I should be glad to assist. Happy Trails making Tracks To The East! Gina Clark
