A radical notion

Following Hickory Travel Systems' purchase of Corp-Net International, the merged consortium will look into launching a bulk-buying program, under which it would buy bulk air seats before selling them at a discount to its corporate clients. So let's get this straight: They will buy from the supplier, then sell to the client. Why, that's almost like... like... retail!

A bill introduced by Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) modestly attacks the Passenger Services Act, which prevents foreign-flagged ships from sailing directly between two U.S. ports. But even if the antiquated rule could be abolished tomorrow, how will veteran, set-in-their-ways cruisers adjust to sailing from Miami to New York without that customary call at Morocco?
