American Marketing Group, parent of Travelsavers and the Network of Entrepreneurs Selling Travel, unveiled an Economic Incentive Package to help its agencies "survive and thrive in this global recession."
"We encourage our agencies to be cautiously aware of what's happening in the economy today but to stay positive, stay focused," said Nicole Mazza, chief marketing officer at Travelsavers and NEST.
"Our Economic Incentive Package will help them take action and keep revenues strong. In a recent ad campaign, we said, 'Go with us, full speed ahead,' and we mean it. Now is the time to be proactive. It's the time for independent agencies to step up to the plate, focus and swing."
AMG said it convened a task force earlier this year to develop and implement an economic program, which will include agent incentives, strategies to stimulate business, training and networking opportunities and rewards for the most proactive agencies.
The first component of the five-week program was released to Travelsavers and NEST agents last week. It focused on niche business and specialties. The plan offers agents practical guidance on how to identify a niche and specific steps to take to attract business.
AMG said that successive components are being released weekly on topics such as online and offline marketing tips, sales vs. profitability strategies, continuing education and training. The company also said suppliers are sponsoring incentives such as "bonus commissions and Web certificates."
