More Mexico resorts are emphasizing wellness and spa treatments as demand for vacations that offer relaxation and stress-reduction programs soars, a trend of the last 10 years that shows no signs of abating.
One of the newest, Zoetry Casa del Mar Los Cabos, opened Dec. 1 along the hotel corridor between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas.
It is part of a new brand whose name leaves no doubt as to its focus: Zoetry Wellness & Spa Resorts. It is also described as a "luxury lifestyle resort" by Alex Zozaya, AMResorts’ CEO.
"This property already embodies everything our guests have come to expect from the Zoetry brand of luxury lifestyle resorts and, through our planned enhancements, we are further raising the bar for experiential vacations blended with consummate luxury," Zozaya said.
The brand is a unit of Philadelphia-based AMResorts, which also operates the Secrets and Dreams brands.
Two years ago, AMResorts introduced Zoetry with the opening of Zoetry Paraiso de la Bonita on the Riviera Maya.
The new resort in Los Cabos is the fourth in the group (two others are in the Dominican Republic) and is a rebranding of the former Casa del Mar Resort, a hacienda-style beachfront property that is a AAA Four Diamond holder and member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World.
AMResorts took over management June 1, added 10 new suites, for a total of 44, and upgraded the restaurants and public areas with new decor for its transformation to Zoetry.
The all-inclusive concept includes 24-hour, in-room dining; maid service three times a day; and a bottle of champagne daily. Suites have ocean views, private balconies, fine linens and whirlpool tubs.
The resort’s spa is called Suenos del Mar and has seven treatment rooms and oceanfront palapas for treatments. Guests also have access to the spa at the Dreams resort next door.
